I hope you are doing well at the moment and are getting ready for the festive period. There are a couple of events organised by TCV Community Network. We are a member so this may interest some of you.

The first one is a fantastic opportunity to gain a Litter Picking and Environmental qualification for FREE. This has been arranged by TCV in conjunction with Lantra e-Learning. The course details are below. This course has 4 learning and 4 assessment modules with a certificate upon successful completion. This course covers; health and safety, workplace risks, cause and consequences, PPE, manual handling, signage, fire and electricity, COSHH, working at height, handling waste, working in low or poor light, working next to water, litter picking next to road and rail, sharps needles and hazardous waste, biosecurity, injurious and invasive species.

There are 20 places available and you can register your interest using the Eventbrite link below. We will pick delegates at random for fairness if it is oversubscribed. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/litter-picking-and-environmental-maintenance-e-learning-tickets-127870591381 The second event is an online talk about Amphibian Identification, Ecology & Surveying Methods hosted by Forelife’s Emily Millhouse on Wednesday 16th December at 6:00PM. The course will run through the main identification features for our native amphibian species and how to survey for them. It will also touch upon some of the threats that our species face, including non-native species present in the UK and diseases to look out for. There will be a short Q&A session at the end, so feel free to bring along some questions!
